　　Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay. Suppose you have two options upon graduation: one is to work in a state-owned business and the other in a joint venture. You are to make a choice between the two. Write an essay to explain the reasons for your choice. You should write at least 120 words but no more than 180 words.

　　Many students wonder whether they should start their first job experience in a state-owned business to seek security or in a joint venture to pursue higher income? As for me, I would choose to work in a private joint venture.

　　On one hand, in a joint-adventure enterprise, there are more room and chance for us to grow and promote. That is because in such corporations, work and promotion are directly related. The better you work, the higher will be your growth. Although state-owned enterprise also has its rules for promotion, it tends to be less flexible.

　　On the other hand, people working for a joint-venture company are more likely to get pay raise. Since the level of salaries is decided within the company, instead of being based on central rules of the government, employees tend to get higher pay if their dedication and skills are recognized by the company.

　　In conclusion, I believe a join venture would be a better choice for my first working experience because job satisfaction, such as promotion and pay raise, is easier to achieve there.

　　1.退休金。人们想要去国企工作往往是因为他们知道在退休后，他们会有更加保障性的养老计划，并一直持续到去世。这一措施是那些在私人合资公司中无法得到的。

　　Pension: People are attracted towards government jobs because they know that when they retire form their job, they will be blessed with a pension plan which will be available to them for the rest of their lives.

　　2.工作稳定性。这是永远无法忽视的一点。假设一种情况，你是一名合资企业的普通员工。经济不景气时，你可能会失去工作。然而，这种可能性在国企中是很小的。即便合资企业会倒塌，你的工作也会比较稳定。

　　Job security: This is a point you can never rule out. Imagine a situation. You are a normal employee in a private organization. Recession hits the economy. You may be terminated from your job. However, this possibility is minimal if you are a government employee. Even if a private sector company is suffering loss, then still your job may be stable.
