Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay on invention. Your essay should include the importance of invention and measures to be taken to encourage invention. You are required to write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

Looking at the computers, cars and lights around us, all of these are useful inventions that have changed our life tremendously. I think the major significance of invention is that they have improved our life quality, so we need provide effective solutions to encourage more inventions in the future.
No one can deny that technological inventions are of great help in improving our life standards. For example, before the invention of air conditioning, people often suffered from sleepless in the hot summer nights. However, with the emergence of air-conditioners, we can enjoy a pleasant and cool indoor environment no matter where we are.
Therefore, governments should introduce more programs to encourage and rationalize invention and try to reward those people who are talented in inventing. Our schools also ought to cultivate traits of students like lifelong passion for curiosity and learning, risk-taking, out-of-box-think so as to inspire their creative abilities.
In conclusion, great inventions play a significant role in improving social development and human civilization. Societies and organizations, therefore, need make collective efforts to promote invention at present and in the future.
